Duffminster Banned on MSN Money Market Talk Message Board after Posting About the American Hero Brooksley Born and the Deregulation of OTC Derivatives and the Major Roles of Summers, Greenspan, Rubin and the Rest of the Free Market Zero Regulation Proponents who Stopped Her from doing the Right Thing

31

I have been posting on the MSN Market Talk with Jim Jubak Message Board for years and never changed my mode of operation.  There was a thread on that Board that outlined the thinking of a very wise, pragmatic, honest and insightful economist who went by the Handle Old and Gray, or as we affectionately refer to him O & G.   Yesterday  I decided to to add one link to the first message of that Post, which was a link to the PBS Front Line Documentary that detailed how the only Women Head of the Commodities Futures Trading Commission, the US Government Regulatory Agency which was designated as the Sole Regulator for Derivatives in the United States,  Brooksley Born, was systematically shutdown and pushed out when she tried to bring regulation to OTC Derivatives and all her efforts to allow the CTFC to do its job to regulate the OTC derivatives like the ones that took LTCM and almost the entire financial system down,  was Crushed by the team of Greenspan, Summers, Rubin and the rest of the Zero Regulation "Free Market" hypocrites who daily manipulate the market through their Orwellian Intervention in markets.

I guess, since the Old and Gray Thread was among the most popular, lucid and detailed discussions of the causes of the current financial crisis and related  solutions, including review of the current "financial reform legislation" going through Congress, that the addition of the Brooksley Born PBS Frontline Video, which Dams Summers, Greenspan and others was just too much and the Powers that Be were able to twist arms over at MSN (one of the few progressive media outlets in my opinion) and have one of the most prolific and well spoken contributors to that community.

If in fact MSN turned to this level of censorship by way of political strong arming then you can be sure that the so called "Democrats" and their "New Orwellian" TASS implementation of "free speach" are trying to keep the truth away from as many people as possible in my opinion.   Its time for each of us to start blogging and getting the unreported and mis-reported realities of how the Fed and its largest member banks have control over our political system and they want to shutdown in Free Speech which challenges there belief in their entitlement to lie, cheat and steal from the rest of the human beings who not as greedy, tricky, cold or inhumane as they in their infinite Darwinian and Orwellian Wisdom are.

Please watch the Brookley Born CTC OTC Takedown Video from Front Line and then go to the MSN Money Talk Message board and other MSN Money Message Boards and post your protest over the Banning of Duffminster and the Deleting of all of his informative posts!

I was given no warning, explanation or other information.  After years of contributing content and being well received by most if not all the MSN Money moderators,  and until otherwise informed, find this action a clarion call to prepare to begin to implement the tactics of Martin Luther King and Mahatma Gandhi.   I'll be ramping up a new broad based economic multi-blog system in the new few weeks at http://www.Duffminster.com.  Nothing there yet but please check back every couple of weeks and I urge you to subscribe.   The new board will not have a bias torwards metals, and I will be seeking many contributing author/editors.
For those of you who have followed me on MSN over the years, thanks for your support in trying to get me re-instated and the ongoing struggle to defend Freedom of Speech and Diversity of Information for the citizens of of this great nation.  We'll have to work to keep it free.

Hi Duff! What in the world is going on?? Who notified you and how did that "person" explain the reason???? The MT board is being flooded with your followers who are angrily protesting the banning!!

InNeedofTrust @ 3:32 pm #

What happened Duffminster. I was over on MSN and a lot of people are upset. If this is a genuinely a mistake, then like any good IT company, which Microsoft is one of the best, they can easily do a point in time database recovery and put your posts back.

If they give some lame excuse about why they can not put your posts back, you can count on official censorship from a very high level.

I am sorry that this happened. I have enjoyed reading your posts as you and and a handful of other contributors on Money Talk provide the information that you just don't find in the mainstream.

I really appreciate the amount of effort you've put into your thinking and that you have shared so much.

I'm really upset about all the Old and Gray posts that were deleted from the Tsunami Thread. It is unconscionable that such a permanent banning and deletion should be done without warning. Many of us have come to know you and while I don't always agree with everything you say, I truly respect the fact that you clearly believe what you say and try to back up your opinions with plenty of data.

Anyway, best of luck with this and you can count on me as a permanent subscriber and frequent visitor to this BLOG and your future broad based economic and political blog that you mention above when it comes out.

Keep up the good fight Duffminster!

Duff,

I am the moderator on the MSN MarketTalk board. I want to let you know that it would appear that your banning, and especially the deletion of your posts, was a mistake.

The administrator of the board (my boss) wanted me to let you know that she is looking into what the hell happened. I will keep you updated as to the status.

I hope you come back and contribute once this is unwound. Unfortunately, there is no way to retrieve the threads that were deleted. You can email me at ArchietheDragon at gmail dot com if you would like to

@Duffminster:
Hey Duff, you always have my support. I believe Neohguy has a family member that had saved all of the Tsunami posts…hopefully someone kept your incredibly informative, insightful and intelligent posts !

franktheimplarer @ 5:07 pm #

HI Duff
Sorry to hear of this, it is both scary and inflamatory as you can see the board is angry for all the right reasons.
I have sent your link and the frontline link to my sources at the WSJ…if they cave I am prepared to do something….
I wish you well and let me know what we can do to fight for freedom of speech and the for the regulatory clean up we all know is much needed if we as a country are to go forward.

I was in such a hurry to get in I mispelled my user…I know it says it can't be corrected so if I delete can I redo?

Thanks and God bless!

Hi Duff,

Just got registered here, I wanted you to know that when I tried to log on to MSN Market Talk this AM, I too, got a message that I was permanently banned and, although I have not had much time to check different threads, I do believe all my posts are gone.

Best to you, I will be checking back in, djr

ASK @ 8:12 pm #

Hi Duff,
I am trying to put the Tsunami thread back together again. I have reposted the first 100 messages. I have the first 300 copied to a word file. Neo may have the posts up to January. It is not perfect, nor as pretty as it once was but I do not want to see all that work vanish.

mdiw @ 8:40 pm #

Dear Duffminster,

I also protest your ban from MT and extend my condolences to you, as well as all there that have lost you as a mentor and teacher. You, O&G, VL and a few selected others are the only reason I have followed MT, you have all taught me much. If they continue with the bans I will simply quit bothering to go there, as it will sorely lack the education that I sought on that board.

I have been lurking here for a couple of months just trolling the information you offer, as I predominantly trolled MT, quietly adding to my knowledge, and occasionally commenting on something that caught my attention. I had no real knowledge to offer to the commentary on the financial tsunami board, but I learned much. Thank you greatly as well as O&G for the learning opportunity.

Today I had to log in and register to protest the ill treatment you received.

G.C. @ 9:05 pm #

Oh! Did I have a hell of a time getting through that clearance process. I felt like an infiltrator again! . . But, here we are face to face (so to speak!) It's me, Odin Gris or Orville Grissom, or your old friend, emphasis on old.

Raised quite a ruckus over there, didn't you, Duff? Unknowingly, to boot! Quite a shock to a few folks. At one point in searching through the web, when I offered up "Duffminster.com" for search, must have been a dozen and a half references in response. . in bold print! Good for advertising. A cause celebre in the making. Let's watch the NYTimes tomorrow!

I tried to get onto the tsunami thread when I first approached it late this afternoon, but was unable to sign in? Convinced they'd put in the double whammy, I then signed on with another PC using a pseudonym. Then, I realized I had nothing to say. Returning as O&G, I said I'd be back when you were allowed back in and the text was restored.

It is a hormet's nest. I have no idea if you visited or not, but ASK and neohguy may be in collusion in re-assembling the thread from their own downloaded stores. The first 62 messages which you edited are reconstituted. I hope you go back to take a look.

Beyond that, the incident may be the sign we need to commit to an alliance, toward whatever end, so I'll respond positively to the above invitation. When your new blog is up and running, it might be worth giving it a try. We'll check in on what might fit. The world is a big, busy place with much activity and a lot to discuss and cogitate.

In the meantime, should you care to make use of any part of that text I sent you (the three parter email), I don't believe it runs the threat of copyright infringement (I'll take a look at the copyright notice at the site and get back with a warning if I do discover otherwise). Besides, the text has been edited and added to which should materially alter it and evade restrictions otherwise. Since I hereby bestow on you carte blanche approval to reproduce in your blog any part that you wish of my personal writing I conveyed to you, the responsibilitiy would than fall on my shoulders.

If you'd like to contact me, leave a hint somewhere in your column and I can respond via the email address you sent me last time if it still exists. I believe it was not published and therefore should be secure. If it's no longer there, we'll find another. I'll set up another address for myself in response by which means we can correspond privately.

As a postscript: I was reluctant to believe that someone was tampering with my access to the thread. It happened a few times if you recall. I now have a PC set up with SUSE and use Firefox in the event I find a site where I suspect something foul. However, I am now convinced someone was tampering iwth my connection. The Russians saved me that time. That's a laugh, isn't it?

And, as for reconstituting the Tsunami thread, I've downloaded everything up to today. It is in Microsoft Word 2007 format, but it can be conveyed easily and is already in digital format. . . . If that is insufficient, I can convert to .pdf!!! . . . . Think of it, you can edit!!

Duff,

Market Talk is the big loser, you are and informed intelligent contributor on Market Talk, unfortunately, I can not post this or any support for you as I did check again this AM, my message is that I am permanently banned and (although my few posts are a small % of your contribution) are *poof* gone.

Looking forward to place where disgusted Market Talk readers can go.

Thanks for all you have done, best………djrick

Falling Sky @ 1:31 pm #

Hi Duff,

Just checked in to let you know how angry I am at Market Talk for what they have done. It seems Freedom of Speech is a dieing concept in this country. I have heard that you plan to start your own Message Board here in the near future and I for one will be a participant. Hopefully you can continue with your Old and Grey thread there as a couple had the foresight to copy the thread in it's entirety.

BiMetalAuPt @ 1:42 pm #

@Duffminster:
Duff,
You have my e-mail address on file now.. We are working with a hedge fund on a supper system using the latest neo-cognitron vs SOM.. please drop a line if you are interested.

Bi Metal Au Pt
PS Also I bet you have FedWatch.. I will post on MT an open invite.. RockingV has been the MOD

neohguy @ 4:00 pm #

Duff, I have e-mailed my son asking him where he put the tsunami thread that he copied in early January. There may be a problem with MSN concerning tos. Problem or not, I'm confident that the tsunami thread will show up in its entirety eventually.
I am troubled, though not surprised, that two of our most thoughtful posters, you and djrick, have been banned.
I will no longer be posting at MSN because of frequent virus detection that I have recently experienced when signing on.

Whoa….

Hey duff

Unbelievable…

Hey as a person who has also done everything imaginable in 40 years in Information Technology.

They can recover it. You and I know there in NO QUESTION of that.

I can't believe they would say they can't.

I was on the other site.

But I was always Scared over there…

Wishing everyone the best!

father.of.one @ 8:04 pm #

Duffminster,

I'll add my 2 cents, was much surprised at your banning and deletion. I actually look for your posts, among others, because of the informaton and the way its presented.

According to the mods, its a large mistake potentially carried out by a "rogue" mod. I do hope they sort it out quickly and you return.

ASK @ 11:41 am #

Duffminster,

I imagine this whole ordeal has been very upsetting and depressing for you. I am appalled by the actions of MSN’s Market Talk. It has been said that perhaps my reposting of the Tsunami thread violates MSN Terms of Service. “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.” Apparently, you can be permanently banned and have all your posts deleted, without warning, for no apparent reason. I see that they have lifted the ban and still hope that they restore all of your posts. I was pleased to learn that O&G had copied the whole Tsunami thread but there is so much more that has been deleted. I am truly sorry, and so upset by this “mistake.”

I am looking forward to your news site and I am humbled that you would consider making me a contributing editor. As we both know, it has been a few years since I have truly contributed any research. “Investigative Journalism is being systematically weeded out and the need for citizen reporting becomes ever more important in the effort to prevent the "One World, One Dream" mantra/slogan of the corporate authoritarian states from becoming a substitute for real freedom, real liberty and real democracy.” Duffminster, I agree with you and I admire your commitment to investigative journalism.

Monday should be an interesting day on Market Talk. If I have not been banned, I will be there.

stonerdr @ 11:41 pm #

Duffminster

I've offered to rebuild the tsunami thread from my files. Tall-Guy has agreed and suggested I check in with you. I'd do so only with your approval. If for any reason you'd rather not have me do it, please let me know here.

I'd undertand if you're reluctant to take MS off the hook and have anyone other than them do the work. Small consolation, but they are caving to pressure now.

From my files, all of the thread can be rebuilt by simple copy and paste from #1 to #1028. The Duff entries alone from #1028 to end would have to be reconstructed from printouts on hand. All other entries would again be a simple copy and paste process from existing files. Some Duff entries would be retyped in the edit process after the thread is completed. Quotes would be retrieved as best as possible, copy and paste, or typed in.

We await your pleasure.

Say the word and the work will begin.

If you would prefer not, your request will be honored. You have a lot of friends over there who would like to see something of yours preserved.

Hi Duff! Hope you do not mind I am here. Just let me know. I am very sorry as to what happened to you. You struck a nerve, and a deep one I do believe. And what timing may I add just before the rip off I mean health care was shoved down our throats.
Things are going to become very out of control and I am sure you are aware of that.
Don't think I care to be around MT any longer. You and O&G and a couple of others just told it how it is. I learned so much from you Duff and I do not plan on stopping!
For the past 3 weeks they have had my computer really screwed up everytime I visit MT. Like they are putting a list together or something of that nature with those that expose what is really going on. It is a dirty shame.

djrick @ 4:42 pm #

Hi Duff,

Did a cursory run thru on Market Talk of why your body of work was destroyed, let me say I find it an interesting time to delete all, in front of a historic vote over the weekend that our current Pres. and team have placed their reputation on. I found the explanations by the mods laughable, not sure I will go back…I found over the past couple weeks the verbage very hostile fromthe permabull side (they can be as damaging as a permabear for an active trader)…one recent poster characterized people he painted as "doomers" wondering about them being mentally ill, also suicideall, I put two written flags in but I don't believe anything was ever done by the moderators on MSN!!??…then all your post are gone?? Will keep checking back for updates on the progress on your blog.

Best to you………..djr

djrick @ 8:49 pm #

Duff,

This is not related to precious metals but I thought it was too good not to share. I would probably forget about it by the time your new blog is up. thanks.
