I have been posting on the MSN Market Talk with Jim Jubak Message Board for years and never changed my mode of operation. There was a thread on that Board that outlined the thinking of a very wise, pragmatic, honest and insightful economist who went by the Handle Old and Gray, or as we affectionately refer to him O & G. Yesterday I decided to to add one link to the first message of that Post, which was a link to the PBS Front Line Documentary that detailed how the only Women Head of the Commodities Futures Trading Commission, the US Government Regulatory Agency which was designated as the Sole Regulator for Derivatives in the United States, Brooksley Born, was systematically shutdown and pushed out when she tried to bring regulation to OTC Derivatives and all her efforts to allow the CTFC to do its job to regulate the OTC derivatives like the ones that took LTCM and almost the entire financial system down, was Crushed by the team of Greenspan, Summers, Rubin and the rest of the Zero Regulation "Free Market" hypocrites who daily manipulate the market through their Orwellian Intervention in markets.
I guess, since the Old and Gray Thread was among the most popular, lucid and detailed discussions of the causes of the current financial crisis and related solutions, including review of the current "financial reform legislation" going through Congress, that the addition of the Brooksley Born PBS Frontline Video, which Dams Summers, Greenspan and others was just too much and the Powers that Be were able to twist arms over at MSN (one of the few progressive media outlets in my opinion) and have one of the most prolific and well spoken contributors to that community.
If in fact MSN turned to this level of censorship by way of political strong arming then you can be sure that the so called "Democrats" and their "New Orwellian" TASS implementation of "free speach" are trying to keep the truth away from as many people as possible in my opinion. Its time for each of us to start blogging and getting the unreported and mis-reported realities of how the Fed and its largest member banks have control over our political system and they want to shutdown in Free Speech which challenges there belief in their entitlement to lie, cheat and steal from the rest of the human beings who not as greedy, tricky, cold or inhumane as they in their infinite Darwinian and Orwellian Wisdom are.
Please watch the Brookley Born CTC OTC Takedown Video from Front Line and then go to the MSN Money Talk Message board and other MSN Money Message Boards and post your protest over the Banning of Duffminster and the Deleting of all of his informative posts!
I was given no warning, explanation or other information. After years of contributing content and being well received by most if not all the MSN Money moderators, and until otherwise informed, find this action a clarion call to prepare to begin to implement the tactics of Martin Luther King and Mahatma Gandhi. I'll be ramping up a new broad based economic multi-blog system in the new few weeks at http://www.Duffminster.com. Nothing there yet but please check back every couple of weeks and I urge you to subscribe. The new board will not have a bias torwards metals, and I will be seeking many contributing author/editors.

Hi Duff! What in the world is going on?? Who notified you and how did that "person" explain the reason???? The MT board is being flooded with your followers who are angrily protesting the banning!!
What happened Duffminster. I was over on MSN and a lot of people are upset. If this is a genuinely a mistake, then like any good IT company, which Microsoft is one of the best, they can easily do a point in time database recovery and put your posts back.
If they give some lame excuse about why they can not put your posts back, you can count on official censorship from a very high level.
I am sorry that this happened. I have enjoyed reading your posts as you and and a handful of other contributors on Money Talk provide the information that you just don't find in the mainstream.
I really appreciate the amount of effort you've put into your thinking and that you have shared so much.
I'm really upset about all the Old and Gray posts that were deleted from the Tsunami Thread. It is unconscionable that such a permanent banning and deletion should be done without warning. Many of us have come to know you and while I don't always agree with everything you say, I truly respect the fact that you clearly believe what you say and try to back up your opinions with plenty of data.
Anyway, best of luck with this and you can count on me as a permanent subscriber and frequent visitor to this BLOG and your future broad based economic and political blog that you mention above when it comes out.

Thanks for posting a reply. I find it difficult to believe that it just happened to be me who had all my volumous posts deleted. Forgive me if I sound incredulous; however if a company like Microsoft / MSN can not do a "point in time" data recovery for a record within their database environment, it would be extraordinarily implausible and for me personally, as a vetran database architect, dba and programmer to buy into the fact that the data can not be retrieved. Please pass my opinion up the chain of command. I personally appreciate your work as a moderator and especially that of the previous moderator of Market Talk, Vetran Lender.
I am quite upset about the loss of the Old and Gray Tsunami posts. I started that thread for Old and Gray and he asked me to cut and paste the germane pieces of many different threads to create that piece that so many of us have treated as a reference guide to understanding the history, mechanics and systemic problems within our system, which lead to the massive deregulation of Wall Street and derivatives and now, for the reason of a so called accident, that effort "can not be retrieved," because the Microsoft system can not do a point in time recovery. I think I'll stick with Oracle. I could write a message board system to put this one to shame but I'm busy with bigger matters at this time.

When it comes to the events of today and the deleting of all the hard work I have spent contributing to these boards, your name "In Need of Trust" is most appropriate for my feelings in regard to MSN today. That this happened to my posts and shortly after the Brooksley Born addition to the first message of the Tsunami Thread dealing with the unregulated OTC derivatives scandal and with Summers, Greenspan, Rubin and their proteges currently running the show, the fact that MSN is saying that it was an "accident" and that the Microsoft system can not recover the data doesn't fly with me. I completely concur with your analysis.

There is nothing there now, but there will be by mid April at the latest and it will be an open forum and I'll be seeking contributing editors and authors on a wide range of economic and political subjects and I welcome your input and I especially hope that Old and Gray might contribute. Pehaps we can put the Tsunami thread back together here. We'll see. I don't know if he has this thread in some format I can post here, but if he does, and he is willing, you can count on it, or some variant of it being posted on the new Duffminster site in a few weeks. You, O&G, VL and a few selected others are the only reason I have followed MT, you have all taught me much. I tried to get onto the tsunami thread when I first approached it late this afternoon, but was unable to sign in? Convinced they'd put in the double whammy, I then signed on with another PC using a pseudonym. Then, I realized I had nothing to say. Returning as O&G, I said I'd be back when you were allowed back in and the text was restored.
It is a hormet's nest. I have no idea if you visited or not, but ASK and neohguy may be in collusion in re-assembling the thread from their own downloaded stores. The first 62 messages which you edited are reconstituted. I hope you go back to take a look.
Beyond that, the incident may be the sign we need to commit to an alliance, toward whatever end, so I'll respond positively to the above invitation. When your new blog is up and running, it might be worth giving it a try. We'll check in on what might fit. The world is a big, busy place with much activity and a lot to discuss and cogitate.
In the meantime, should you care to make use of any part of that text I sent you (the three parter email), I don't believe it runs the threat of copyright infringement (I'll take a look at the copyright notice at the site and get back with a warning if I do discover otherwise). Out of sentiment please allow me to continue to address you as O&G, or Old and Gray. Thanks so very much for your response. I have been overwhelmed by the support over on MSN. By the way, when I try to login as Duffminster, I remain "banned." So, for me, the talk about MSN working to restore my posts and re-enstate me is perhaps a little hard to buy into. My opinion is that if its Microsoft, and its software they present for their content, it doesn't matter if its there design or not, data recovery needs to be integral, as do appropriate means of censorship, i.e. censoring where it is completely appropriate and on a piece by piece basis and not a blanket deletion of thousands of hours of content contribution in the sweep of a hand.
I saw the Ad on MSN with Buffet acting like Axle Rose and I thought maybe this was designed to coincide with his or Bill's Rockstar ability to simply wipe companies, people and who knows what else off the map with the touch of a button. It probably didn't go that high up, but then again Summers has a lot of connections, as does Greenspan, Rubin, Paulson and the rest of the Sach the government and people team on Wall Street who don't want people getting excited about the Brooksley Born story again at a time when the rage against AIG, Wallstreet, and the con-men, sorry congressmen, who find ways to paper things over on a daily basis and wrap it up with sweet smelling paper and sell it to us a "solution" is growing greater by the day.
The nation is moving towards greater corporate welfare, with the have's having ever more and everyone else (the vast majority) having ever less. Iraq stands as model of where the elite's want the US to be, with everything privatized for the benefit of multinational corporations and no safetynet, few good jobs and no real affordable health care for the people. If your a giant oil company though, its a great opportunity and even better one if you a company that was once a US company but moved to the Middle East to become the largest supplier of infrastructure and service to the US Military Industrial complex and stopped paying US corporate taxes all at the same time. It has been very good for the privatized militias that don't report to the US military, and where infantry men get paid about what US Military generals make. Its no longer about fighting for "freedom," "liberty" and the "American Way,"; its about false flag operations, backed by false intelligence, to rationalize the agenda's of the multi-national corporations and both the neo-conservative and now the neo-liberal agendas for ongoing resource hegemony. They truly live by the credo that the ends always justify the means and the only "ends" they have are padding their own wallets. Money has truly reached the end phase corruption of the empire. Now it will be left to time and grace to show us if the Spirit of the Declaration of Independence of a higher empathic human will survive the destructive path of deevolution which we today witness, where intelligence is not accompanied by wisdom, love and humanity.

I've been quite depressed since yesterday and I apologize for the delay in approving and these comments. I have always appreciated your spirit of contribution and ability to research and provide supporting information. I hope you will contribute to the Duffminster BLOG in the future, especially if this ban (WHICH IS STILL IN AFFECT) as of now, is not lifted. I am making most of you contributing editors on the BLOG and will be doing so for those willing on the new broader based Duffminster Markets, Politics, Economics and alternative news site that will be developed in the coming months. Our nation and civilization needs alternatives to the largely giant corporate controlled news media, which increasingly feeds us the same homogeneous, fresh from the government office of information's news service press.
Investigative Journalism is being systematically weeded out and the need for citizen reporting becomes ever more important in the effort to prevent the "One World, One Dream" mantra/slogan of the corporate authoritarian states from becoming a substitute for real freedom, real liberty and real democracy. When Censorship takes place on a mass scale because someone in the corporate hierarchy submits to political pressure, it is time for us to sharpen the sword of truth, and prepare to to defend all we hold sacred, not with violence, but with the willingness to die bravely by speaking the truth and standing in front of the bulldozers of the machine.
I believe in these great words "Give me Liberty or Give me Death." I wonder how many American's still remember or believe in them. I personally believe that by Putting the Brooksley Born PBS Front Line Documentary Link in message one of such a popular link was what made someone at the top decide that they just couldn't have the mythical figures of Greenspan, Rubin and others being put in such a bad light, at a time when Greenspan is very publicly trying to defend himself and Summers is in the Limelight of the Obmama/Geithner/Bernanke economic policy era.

Of all people on the MSN boards, you in my opinion have been the most conservative of those who regularly speak truth in the face of the massive MOPE and propaganda that informs the masses. Thanks so very much. I appreciate you going to battle for Freedom of Speech. It is American's like you that make the difference and keep us from going fully over the precipice of full blown fascism (corporate welfare/corporate state) and state controlled media only putting out what the the corporate state wants you to know. While we may disagree on this point, I believe that the neo-liberal through their agents at the top Fed member banks attempt to control global markets through price action via their precursor information, shadow banking, otc derivatives and other securitization and futures operations with the help of supplementary liquidity and other quasi-governmental steal operations on a daily basis. Gold and silver are only one small part of the daily manipulative activity but they are significant as they have a far more reaching impact on the FOREX than most imagine and these activities are counter to their daily and on-going mantra of "free markets", "no interference" and the like. The Hypocracay and corruption are stifiling and Greenspan and his crew, as outlined in the Brooksley Born PBS Frontline documentary are the primary culprits in my opinion.

Thanks for being such a consistent and true supporter of free speech and of me personally. I can not tell you how much this means to me. Freedom of Speech is one of the last bastions and the battle line between the current state of the United States and Full Out unabashed actualization of the corporate welfare state (FASCISM). We are that bastion. I am a pacifist and yet I remain a warrior in the battle for truth. The pen in our case becomes the sword. True critical thinkers and those comitted to the notion of actual democracy, actual freedom and actual liberty and the true underlying philosophical, ethical, spiritual and human principles behind the Constitution of the United States and the Declaration of Independence, the Real Americans, believe in the following truth of the real America: "The Land of the Brave and the Home of the Free" & "Give me Liberty or Give me Death". Let us not forget these words of our Forefathers or to review these lines of the Declaration of Independence on a regular basis:
"…We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. …"
These words are considered by the powers that be to be those of "dissidents" a term that became popular under Stalin in the former USSR and resulted in the persecution of tens of millions who "questioned the prevailing wisdom" or "challenged authority." As real Americans, "questioning the conventional wisdom"/propaganda and "challenging the ethical and moral validity of "authority," is our primary responsibility in the defense of true freedom and true democracy in my opinion.
Duff, I have e-mailed my son asking him where he put the tsunami thread that he copied in early January. There may be a problem with MSN concerning tos. Problem or not, I'm confident that the tsunami thread will show up in its entirety eventually.
I am troubled, though not surprised, that two of our most thoughtful posters,you and djrick, have been banned.

Well, I first found out about it when I couldn't log in. So I just went to the message board without being logged in and saw that all my postes in the Tsunami thread were deleted. Then I started poking around and all my posts over the years were gone.
Kind of depressing but I should not be suprised. MSN is one of the only mainstream outlets that actually allows as much progressive information as they do.
I stayed within the boundries of TOS as far as I know. I never received any pre-emptive warning that I was about to banned.
As a long time contributor of diverse content on the board I was shocked not have received any type of polite warning.

I believe that despite protests to the contrary, that this was a clear act of censorship pushed through from the higest levels of MSN and probably Microsoft in my opinion.
This type of censorship spells the end of true Freedom of Speech in this nation under the evolving fascism and corporate totalitarianism. We must stand bravely agains this and when "Banned" from one venue, we must create new media, new messages and new semantics to combat the Orwellian Propoganda machine, whose masters assume that there increasingly dominant financial disposition also gives them some sort of entitlement to treat the rest of us as sheep to be hearded and mindless drones to be programmed to always accept more, demand less, and produce more wealth for them while giving up our freedoms in the name of the terror the manufacturer to scare us.
Stand strong, do not yield freedom, speak the truth, and protest the banning for as long as the my posts remain deleted.
Trust me. For many different reasons, they have backups of all data and it is so by law. The excuse that they can restore my posts is not true in my opinion. It is a lame excuse and it clear that the truth scares them in my opinion.

And to answer your question, Archie is the moderator who was the first to contact me and say it was an "accident" but given that it was a permanent "ban", from what I understand it took at least two people and apparently no one in Archie's immediate chain of command peformed this "accident."

I imagine this whole ordeal has been very upsetting and depressing for you. I am appalled by the actions of MSN’s Market Talk. It has been said that perhaps my reposting of the Tsunami thread violates MSN Terms of Service. “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.” Apparently, you can be permanently banned and have all your posts deleted, without warning, for no apparent reason. I see that they have lifted the ban and still hope that they restore all of your posts. I was pleased to learn that O&G had copied the whole Tsunami thread but there is so much more that has been deleted. I am truly sorry, and so upset by this “mistake.”

From my files, all of the thread can be rebuilt by simple copy and paste from #1 to #1028. The Duff entries alone from #1028 to end would have to be reconstructed from printouts on hand. All other entries would again be a simple copy and paste process from existing files. Some Duff entries would be retyped in the edit process after the thread is completed. Quotes would be retrieved as best as possible, copy and paste, or typed in.

Things are going to become very out of control and I am sure you are aware of that.
Don't think I care to be around MT any longer. You and O&G and a couple of others just told it how it is. I learned so much from you Duff and I do not plan on stopping!
For the past 3 weeks they have had my computer really screwed up everytime I visit MT. Like they are putting a list together or something of that nature with those that expose what is really going on. It is a dirty shame.

I really appreciate your support and trying to put the Tsunami Thread back together. The 72 deletes at the beginning of the tread are testimony o the damage reaped and to my personal feelings of having my books burned and my spirit raped by an impersonal system that is controlled by the will of Banks and where humans have become mere parasites to the elites and their corporate interests which control government. It may not be as bad as all that, but it does look like a Tsunami hit the Tsumai thread doesn't it?

Did a cursory run thru on Market Talk of why your body of work was destroyed, let me say I find it an interesting time to delete all, in front of a historic vote over the weekend that our current Pres. and team have placed their reputation on. I found the explanations by the mods laughable, not sure I will go back…I found over the past couple weeks the verbage very hostile fromthe permabull side (they can be as damaging as a permabear for an active trader)…one recent poster characterized people he painted as "doomers" wondering about them being mentally ill, also suicideall, I put two written flags in but I don't believe anything was ever done by the moderators on MSN!!??…then all your post are gone?? Will keep checking back for updates on the progress on your blog.
